The end of the First World War brought about a general feeling of giddy glee and 1920's fashion reflected the dawning of a new age. A new era of prosperity saw people wearing more comfortable clothes than ever before. The flapper influence is making another round of appearances on fashion runaways, so take cue from 1920's fashion and get ready to update your wardrobe! The early part of the 1920's fashion was conservative. But as the length of skirts moved upward, the waistline dropped. Comfort became more important as the roles of women changed from wife and mother with no political voice to women in the workforce with the right vote. Sportswear took roaring 1920's fashion by storm, women wore pants for the first time and tubular dresses became all the rage. Fashion designers played with various fabrics, but overall brighter colors and playful prints came into vogue as if they were shrugging off the dark years of the war. No more bustles and right-fitting corsets that left little breathing room. Bras were worm, making women feel lighter and less inhibited.
