Dressing In Style with Cheap Teen Clothing

What do you think about affordable teenage fashion clothes? Cheap teen clothing? Am I kidding? Nope. In fact, it's a hot trend! This certainly brings a sigh of relief from many a parent.

Discounts are "IN"

Just a few years ago, teens were into the latest fashion designs and expensive ones at that. Perhaps due, in part, to the fact that most parents simply can no longer shell out gobs of money for teen's clothing, teenagers decided to take matters into their own hands. Necessity is the mother of invention, after all.

A Fashion Trend in a Cheap Way with Retro

While the retro trend has been underway for quite a while, this became a hot trend with the avant garde faction of teens first. Teens who were into a more individualistic style went for retro in a big way. Making their own fashion statement became one way of thumbing their collective noses at the fashion runways of the world.

Now, almost every teen is in to the retro scene, with at least a couple of complete retro costumes. Naturally, this formerly cheap teen clothing marketers began raising their prices. Still, the retro fashions are still relatively inexpensive when compared with department store goods.

How to Dress Like a Female Hottie

Now, that leading edge of teen fashionistas has really gotten into cheap teen clothing that is as inexpensive as it is hot! Where do these teen fashion queens shop? At the thrift and consignment shops, of course! It's unlikely that the Salvation Army or Goodwill clothing shops are going to start competing with the department stores by raising prices.

While some of the more 'upscale' consignment shops have been raising their prices a tad, due to the popularity of this cheap teen clothing, the thrift shops are a virtual gold mine for the fashionable teen.

Now You Can Wear More Fashion Outfits for Less

Imagine how many clothes a teen can accumulate shopping the thrift shops! While a good quality wool winter coat of a classic design might go for $200 at the mall, a teen might, at the right place and time, find a full length leather coat in beautiful condition for $10!

Mix and Match the 80s with the 50s for a Fab Look

Another factor that's changing the teen fashion scene is that the thrift and consignment shops get clothing items that span decades of fashion. A 60s skirt can be teamed up with a 50s sweater and worn with a coat from the 80s. You can't get more individualistic, read 'trendy', than that.

Buying Clothes from the Factory Outlets

Another cheap teen clothing resource is the factory outlet store. Here, teens can find everything from stockings to designer shoes and clothing at heavily discounted prices. These items are considered seconds, with minor flaws in the evenness of stitching or some such thing which can't be seen with the naked eye.

Nonetheless, the garment or show can no longer be sold as the genuine article. The store cuts the designer label out, so as not to sully their reputation. While some adults may view this practice as slightly gauche on the part of the designer, teens view this badge of cheap teen clothing as an asset. It makes the clothes and complete designer outfits that much cooler.
