Nail Polish

What helps women be more beautiful is known all over the world and can be traced back to the ancient China? No doubt, nail polish can help you express yourself and really make you shine.

History of Nail Polish

This cosmetic varnish saw the light some 3000 years ago in ancient China 4000 years BC, where black and red and then gold and silver nail polish was exclusively reserved for specific dynasties’ royalty.

Women and men who did not belong to royalty were allowed to paint their nails in pale colors only. Those regulations were so strict that transgressors would be punished by death.

However, some archaeologists say that the history of nail polish started in Egypt, where evidence was found – gadgets for eye makeup and scent unguents application – back in the 4th millennium before Christ.

Reserved in early times to royalty, it was the rock music stars such as Freddie Mercury or David Bowie, who with the passing of time, adopted the habit of fingernail polish. Black polish with added purple highlights was especially important to add pomposity and glamour, and because of this fashion statement, they have changed the history of nail polish as we know it today.

Nail Polish Pens

For those who dream of stunning designs but lack the ability to draw with the brush that comes with the nail polish bottle, nail polish pens are a great solution. They are small and easy to carry in small bags, ideal for traveling. They work with disposable cartridges, one for every color, and allow for application control. With a nail polish pen you can always apply fresh polish quickly and easily, avoiding spills or waste with an even layer for best results.

Moreover, the practicality makes them ideal for laying both fingernail polish and toenail polish designs, because they are accurate on even the smallest toenails.

With a little practice you can indulge yourself with a French manicure. Remember to soak your hands in warm water, push your cuticles back carefully, shape your nails with a nail filer, whip off all nail dust traces and clean your nails with a small piece of cotton soaked in nail polish remover. Then follow these simple steps:

  • Paint a gentle white tip on your nails. Fix its borders with a good nail polish remover pen. Let your nail tips dry at least for an hour. You can speed up the process by using a hair dryer, but don’t apply hot air.
  • Apply a two or three thin layers of nail polish in a sheer color so that you can still see the white tips through it.
  • Remove nail polish traces and finish with a top coat to add extra shine and protect your new French manicure.

As with regular bottle nail polish, if you make a mistake you can always remove the traces of nail polish pens with a small piece of cotton soaked in nail polish remover. Experimenting with toenail polish designs has never been so easy!
